Welcome to the home of Preparenting

Welcome. I’m a family support professional and commentator on parenting and social issues.

Over the years, I’ve learned a great deal from helping parents to face the challenge of raising a child. My focus is on guiding new parents and steering them through the change in lifestyle which can leave both parents feeling as if they’re parenting in isolation. I encourage parents to plan ahead and approach raising a family as a strong partnership, making the parenting journey easier and more enjoyable.

In 2008 in the USA, I introduced my adult Preparenting Programme®, the profound new way of preparing for parenthood and being, in my words, a Preparent.  A step-by-step action plan with guidance for each stage, the Programme is designed to raise awareness of what it really means to be a parent, and help you become better prepared for the choices, changes and challenges that lie ahead.

To find out more, or to download the Preparenting Programme please visit my new Preparenting website.

If you require further help and advice with regards to other or particular aspects of parenting, my series of audio guides or telephone mentoring service may be just what you need. Also, in special circumstances I can make home visits. Read on to find out more, get in touch via e-mail or call +44 (0)1373 451 019.

My website also contains a range of FREE articles about parenting-related issues, feedback from some of the parents I’ve helped, a link to my regularly updated blog and some recommendations for further reading.

Much like your parenting journey, my research, philosophy and experiences with families continues to evolve and therefore this site is frequently updated to reflect my observations. I welcome these from families too and my blog page is intended to share your thoughts. Happy reading and I wish you the best of luck as you venture into preparenthood.
